The initial rate provides the proper preload necessary for correct suspension function during all road conditions. The final rate is designed to provide the appropriate vehicle balance for neutral steering characteristics. Easy!!! Fast.... the items were fine but the packing suffered horribly in transit. The box was tattered and sagging but the contents had not gotten out.....yet. Other than that everything was swell.
