COMP Cams 12987-01 Beehive Valve Spring Single

The COMP Cams 12987-01 is a high-performance Beehive-style valve spring engineered for improved valvetrain stability and reduced harmonics at elevated RPM. The tapered beehive profile reduces the spring's reciprocating mass at the top coil, allowing for better seat and open pressures without the added weight of a conventional dual-spring assembly.

COMP Cams manufactures this spring from Super Clean™ wire, a premium spring steel alloy that undergoes rigorous quality control testing to ensure consistent spring rate, superior fatigue resistance, and long service life under demanding conditions.

Key Features:

• Beehive taper design reduces reciprocating valvetrain mass
• Manufactured from Super Clean™ high-tensile spring steel wire
• Shot-peened for enhanced fatigue strength and durability
• Precision wound for consistent spring rate and seat pressure
• Compatible with smaller, lighter 10-degree retainers
• Sold individually (single spring)

This valve spring is ideal for performance street, track, and competition builds where valvetrain control and reduced parasitic load are priorities. Always verify installed height, coil bind clearance, and open pressure requirements against your specific camshaft profile before installation.
