A failing thermostat assembly can cause the engine to run below optimal temperature, triggering fault code P0128 (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature) and reducing fuel efficiency and performance. Replacing with a genuine Mercedes-Benz unit ensures factory-correct thermal management is fully restored. After replacement, use only Mercedes-Benz approved coolant meeting specification 325.0, 325.5, or 325.6.
