Supertech Performance SEAT-BMS54-24 Valve Spring Seat Locator Set BMW S54 24 Piece

These critical valvetrain components are designed to work with Supertech dual valve spring kits and other performance spring upgrades on S54-powered vehicles.

Key Features:

• Precision-machined hardened steel construction
• Inside diameter (ID) locating design centers springs on valve guides
• Protects aluminum cylinder heads from spring wear and damage
• Prevents valve spring movement and harmful harmonics at high RPM
• Essential for performance valve spring installations
• Direct-fit for BMW S54 24-valve 3.2L engines

Application:

• 2000-2006 BMW E46 M3
• 2000-2002 BMW E36/7 Z3 M Roadster and E36/8 M Coupe
• 2006-2008 BMW E85 Z4 M Roadster and E86 Z4 M Coupe

Spring seat locators are a hardened steel component that sits between the cylinder head and the bottom of the valve spring. They serve multiple critical functions: maintaining proper spring alignment to prevent lateral movement that can damage aluminum heads, providing a stable hardened surface that won't deform under extreme spring pressure, and helping control valvetrain harmonics at high engine speeds. The ID locating design positions the spring concentrically with the valve guide for optimal performance and allows proper oil flow for cooling, unlike cup-style locators.

These locators are essential when installing performance valve springs, especially in high-RPM applications with aggressive camshafts. They work in conjunction with Supertech's titanium retainers and dual valve spring kits to create a complete, matched valvetrain system capable of reliably handling increased lift and RPM ranges beyond stock specifications.
