Genuine Mercedes 230-860-02-47 Headlight Washer Cylinder

The Genuine Mercedes-Benz headlight washer cylinder (part number 230-860-02-47) is a factory OEM replacement component designed for the telescopic headlight cleaning system. This precision-engineered cylinder assembly is responsible for extending the washer nozzle from its hidden position in the bumper cover to spray high-pressure cleaning fluid onto the headlight lens.

How It Works:

When activated, pressurized washer fluid enters the cylinder and pushes the internal piston against a return spring, causing the telescopic nozzle to extend outward from the bumper. An integrated valve ensures the nozzle reaches full extension before fluid is sprayed, then opens to deliver a cone-shaped spray pattern of micro-droplets onto the headlight lens. Once the wash cycle completes, the return spring retracts the nozzle back to its concealed position, maintaining the vehicle's clean aerodynamic profile.

Key Features:

• Genuine Mercedes-Benz OEM part ensures exact fit and proper function
• Telescopic design extends and retracts automatically for streamlined appearance
• High-pressure spray system effectively removes dirt, road salt, and debris
• Integrated valve mechanism prevents premature fluid release
• Durable construction withstands repeated extension cycles and harsh weather
• Mounts directly to bumper cover for straightforward replacement

This component is essential for maintaining optimal headlight performance and visibility, particularly in adverse weather conditions. The headlight cleaning system is mandatory equipment on vehicles with high-intensity discharge (HID) or xenon headlights to prevent light scatter from dirty lenses that can cause glare for oncoming traffic.
