Ohlins BM044 STX 46 Adventure Rear Shock Absorber for BMW R1200GS

The Öhlins BM044 STX 46 Adventure is a premium performance rear shock absorber engineered as a direct replacement upgrade for the BMW R1200GS. Designed specifically for adventure riding demands, this shock delivers a dramatic improvement in handling, stability, and ride comfort over the stock unit on both paved roads and off-road terrain.

At the core of the BM044 is Öhlins' proven monotube high-pressure gas design featuring a large 46mm piston, delivering consistent, fade-free damping performance in all conditions. Unlike standard emulsion-type shocks, the monotube configuration with an integral gas reservoir ensures reliable performance across extreme temperature ranges and riding environments.

Key Features:

• 46mm monotube high-pressure gas shock with integral piggyback-style reservoir
• Adjustable rebound damping via adjuster wheel or slot above the end eye
• Adjustable compression damping for fine-tuned ride quality
• Hydraulic spring preload adjustment — easily set ride height without tools
• 16mm hardened piston rod for durability and precision
• Machined and finished to the same tolerances as Öhlins race-grade suspension components
• Fully serviceable and rebuildable via Öhlins modular construction system
• OEM-style mounting for straightforward installation

The BM044 is built using the same processes and machinery as Öhlins' top-tier racing shock absorbers, ensuring race-proven technology in a street and adventure-ready package. The modular design means the shock can be completely disassembled for routine servicing, restoring like-new performance and extending the life of the unit for the lifetime of the motorcycle.
