Prothane 4-1606-BL Black Polyurethane Shifter Bushing Kit for Neon SRT-4

The Prothane 4-1606-BL is a black polyurethane shifter bushing kit engineered to eliminate the vague, sloppy shift feel common on front-wheel-drive vehicles with worn factory linkage bushings. Stock rubber shifter bushings degrade over time, causing excessive play in the shift linkage and imprecise gear engagement — a problem that is especially pronounced on performance-driven vehicles like the Dodge Neon SRT-4. Prothane's polyurethane construction delivers a firmer, more direct connection between the shifter and transmission, restoring confidence during both everyday driving and hard, performance-oriented power shifts.

Key Features:

• Polyurethane construction — significantly more durable and resistant to wear, heat, and chemical contamination than factory rubber bushings
• Black finish with small graphite content mixed into the urethane, which helps minimize bushing squeak
• Tighter shift feel — firms up the shifter linkage for more precise and responsive gear changes
• Complete kit — includes all shifter bushings needed for the application
• Includes pre-lube — Prothane Super Grease included; proper lubrication at install is essential to prevent squeaking
• Lifetime warranty — Prothane guarantees all bushing products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the life of original ownership
• Made in the USA

Installation is straightforward and can typically be accomplished with basic hand tools. For easier fitment, warming the bushings in hot water prior to installation will improve pliability. Be sure to apply the included grease thoroughly to all contact surfaces during installation.
