An exhaust elbow is a pre-bent or curved section of exhaust tubing — typically formed at a 45-degree or 90-degree angle — designed to redirect exhaust gases around chassis obstacles, frame rails, suspension components, or tight under-vehicle spaces. Rather than forcing a straight pipe into a bend in the field (which can collapse the tube wall and restrict flow), an exhaust elbow is precision-formed to maintain consistent inside diameter throughout the curve, preserving exhaust gas velocity and backpressure levels that the engine was tuned to expect.
