The Weld Racing RT-S S71 is a high-performance forged aluminum wheel that combines classic 5-spoke styling with modern engineering and manufacturing excellence. This 18x12 polished wheel features Weld's signature three-piece modular construction, utilizing a forged billet center and cold forged rim shells assembled through a unique welding process that delivers exceptional strength-to-weight ratio for street and strip applications.
Advanced Three-Piece Forged Construction:
- Forged billet aluminum center with cold forged rim shells for maximum strength and durability
- Three-piece welded assembly provides application flexibility and superior performance
- Manufactured using primary forging-grade aluminum alloys
- Polished finish on both center and shell for show-quality appearance
- Load rating of 1,580 lbs per wheel
Medium Pad Configuration:
This wheel features a medium mounting pad height designed to clear high-performance factory brake systems found on Corvettes from 1965 and performance cars from the late 1980s onward, as well as many aftermarket brake systems. The 7.7-inch backspacing provides proper fitment for wide tire applications while maintaining brake caliper clearance.

Important Installation Note:
17-inch and 18-inch diameter Weld Racing wheels require conical seat lug nuts (60-degree conical seat, typically M14 x 1.5 thread). Factory lug nuts from most manufacturers will not seat properly on Weld wheels due to different seat angles and shank dimensions. Using incorrect lug hardware creates a safety hazard and can damage the wheel finish. Conical seat lug nuts must be purchased separately.
Proudly manufactured in the United States, Weld Racing wheels have been the choice of professional drag racing teams for decades, including partnerships with championship-winning NHRA teams. The same forging techniques and material standards used in 300+ mph professional racing applications are applied to every street wheel Weld produces.
