Brembo

The Global Leader in High-Performance Braking

Founded in 1961 in Paladina, Italy, near Bergamo, Brembo began as a small family-run mechanical workshop that would transform into the world's most recognized name in automotive brake systems. The company's breakthrough came in 1964 when a truck transporting brake discs from the UK to Alfa Romeo overturned, and Brembo was tasked with repairing the damaged discs—but the company realized it could produce them and successfully proposed the idea to Alfa Romeo. This pivotal moment launched Brembo's journey from a regional supplier to a global powerhouse in braking technology.

The turning point came in 1975, when Enzo Ferrari chose Brembo for his Formula 1 cars, cementing the brand's reputation in the most demanding motorsport environment imaginable. Today, Brembo is the braking systems provider for Formula One and has won over 200 world championships across multiple racing series. This racing heritage directly informs every component the company manufactures, from disc brake rotors to complete disc brake kits designed for enthusiasts who demand track-proven performance.

Engineering Excellence Across Every Component

What sets Brembo apart is their vertically integrated manufacturing philosophy. Brembo owns the foundries that produce their initial materials and supply the manufacturing plants, and in all markets, the company controls the entire production system—from raw materials through distribution. This comprehensive control ensures consistent quality across their entire product range, including disc brake pad sets engineered for optimal friction characteristics and fade resistance.

Continuous research and development led to the production of the first aluminum brake caliper for cars in 1980, a revolutionary solution in both design and materials. In 2004, Brembo received its first Compasso d'Oro award—the most prestigious industrial design award in the world—for the design of its carbon ceramic disc braking system, with judges noting: "Were it not a brake, it would be a sculpture worthy of any modern art museum". This commitment to both performance and aesthetics is visible in Brembo's signature colored calipers, which have become a status symbol on high-performance vehicles worldwide.

OEM Partnerships and Aftermarket Innovation

Brembo supplies over 30 automotive manufacturers including Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and many others, developing bespoke braking solutions for each platform. This OEM expertise translates directly to their aftermarket offerings, allowing enthusiasts to upgrade their vehicles with the same technology trusted by the world's leading supercar manufacturers. Beyond traditional brake components, Brembo's engineering capabilities extend to specialized applications like automatic transmission control solenoids and even brake drums for specific vehicle platforms.

The company holds QS9000 and ISO 9001 certifications, ensuring every component meets rigorous quality standards. Brembo sells over 1,300 products worldwide and is known for their aftermarket automotive brake components, including calipers, drums, rotors, and brake lines. Whether you're restoring a classic Italian sports car, upgrading a modern performance vehicle, or simply replacing worn components with premium alternatives, Brembo's comprehensive catalog offers solutions engineered with the same precision that stops Formula 1 cars from 200 mph.

Why Choose Brembo

Choosing Brembo means investing in over six decades of braking innovation and motorsport validation. With decades of racing experience on its résumé, Brembo has proven it can develop and manufacture brake parts that can withstand the extreme conditions experienced on a track, and its brakes are known for being powerful and dependable. Every component—from entry-level replacement rotors to complete big brake kits—benefits from technology refined at the absolute edge of performance, then adapted for reliable street use. When you see that distinctive Brembo logo on a brake component, you're looking at a piece of automotive engineering heritage backed by countless podium finishes and trusted by drivers who accept no compromise in stopping power.

Product Details

The knowledge accumulated through years of experience in engineering brakes for race cars has led the Brembo High Performance Division to launch the exclusive GT-R line. It has been developed to fit a select number of street applications including but not limited to Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Chevrolets Corvette and new Camaro applications.

The GT-R system has been designed for the driver who demands exceptional performance on the street and on the track. It includes 4 or 6-piston monobloc calipers, two-piece floating brake rotors, a selection of friction materials and all the necessary hardware to insure seamless installation. The GT-R calipers machined entirely from billet provide both the benefits and look of a racing brake system: more stiffness, lighter weight (GT-R calipers achieve a weight reduction up to 10 percent compared to casted versions) and more thermo-mechanical resistance, critical in high-performance applications. The two-piece floating rotors reduce unsprung weight and dissipate heat faster.

The nickel-plated finish provides additional treatment against corrosion and ensures a more attractive look. The pistons, complete with stainless steel inserts, provide an additional heat barrier virtually eliminating fade even during max-limit and on-track driving. In addition, the calipers provide less brake fluid absorption and a stiffer pedal feel delivering consistent clamping force suited for drivers wanting to make the most of every second.

 • Brembo forged 4, 6 or 8 piston racing calipers with sequentially sized pistons (lighter and slimmer profile than standard Brembo GT calipers). Some GTR calipers are 1-piece monoblock construction while some are 2-piece, depending on application.
 • Brembo ventilated titanium piston inserts to form an additional heat barrier (most GTR calipers, not all)
 • Brembo two piece floating hat and rotor assemblies reduce unsprung weight and dissipate heat faster
 • Brembo slotted and directionally vented two piece rotors
 • DOT and TUV certified Goodridge stainless steel brake lines; guaranteed for life
 • Brembo high performance brake pads; up to 4 per caliper; available in street or race compounds
 • Brembo floating anti-rattle rotor hardware developed by Brembo for the McLaren F1 road car
 • Brembo billet brackets with aircraft quality hardware

Autoplicity was great, I ordered my springs late Monday night and I received a shipment order confirmation number early Wednesday. So basically 1 business day and my order was out the door, pretty impressive. Can't wait 'till it gets here! Thanks Autoplicity!

Good so far. Just hoping the product is of quality and that it works.

transaction was fast, made shopping a good experience.

Great prices on a lot of good stuff, shipping isn't what's listed in price comparison, but competitive.

The shipping was fast, although I couldn't get it the first day because they require signature for delivery. I guess it's an added safety measure. Thank you! Will shop buy from again!
