The Sport Compact lineup pairs with high-quality NPR XX rings, featuring steel-nitrided top rings and Napier-style second rings for enhanced wear resistance and oil control. Late-model EFI pistons and select small block Chevy applications are engineered around 1.2mm steel nitride and Napier GFX ring sets, while many big block configurations use a .043 back-cut top ring for additional material thickness around the intake valve pocket.
