Product Details

The ARP 233-4507 Pro Series head stud kit delivers professional-grade cylinder head clamping force for high-performance and racing engines. Engineered with premium 8740 chrome moly steel and precision manufacturing processes, these studs provide superior strength and reliability compared to OEM head bolts.

Key Features:

  • Premium 8740 chrome moly alloy rated at 200,000 psi tensile strength
  • Undercut design on shorter studs equalizes stretch for consistent clamping force
  • Thread rolled after heat treatment for 10x better fatigue strength
  • Centerless ground for precise concentricity and perfect alignment
  • Vertical rack heat treatment ensures complete penetration and uniform strength
  • Hex head nuts with hardened parallel-ground washers included
  • Facilitates easier engine assembly with guaranteed head gasket alignment

Why Choose Studs Over Bolts:

Head studs provide more accurate torque loading than bolts because they stretch only on the vertical axis during installation. Bolts experience both torsional and tensile loads simultaneously, making consistent torque readings difficult. The undercut design on ARP's shorter studs compensates for head gasket compression, helping prevent gasket failures and ensuring optimal engine sealing.

Installation:

Studs should be installed finger-tight in a relaxed mode—never cranked down with a jammed nut. Apply torque only to the nuts, allowing the studs to stretch uniformly. Re-torque after initial engine operation to compensate for gasket compression.

ARP Pro Series head studs are the choice of professional engine builders across all forms of motorsports, delivering the zero-defect, zero-failure quality standard that ARP is known for.
