HKS 45999-AN004 Crank Angle Sensor Conversion Kit SR20DET

The HKS 45999-AN004 Crank Angle Sensor Conversion Kit is a precision-engineered upgrade designed specifically for Nissan SR20DET-powered vehicles, including the 180SX (RPS13), Silvia S13, S14, and S15. This kit replaces the factory crank angle sensing system with a dedicated, high-accuracy solution that separately detects crankshaft and camshaft position signals for more reliable engine management and advanced tuning capability.

On the stock SR20DET, the crankshaft position signal is derived through the cam angle sensor. Timing chain movement can introduce signal variation, particularly at high engine speeds, leading to ignition timing instability. By separating these two signals, the HKS kit delivers more stable engine speed recognition under high-load and high-RPM conditions, eliminating ignition timing fluctuation and unlocking a wider range of tuning settings.

Key Features:

• Independently detects crankshaft and camshaft position signals for improved accuracy
• Dedicated ATI crank damper pulley with an integrated trigger wheel included
• Trigger phase optimized to the crankshaft sensor position to support reliable engine starting
• Reduces crankshaft torsional vibration peaks at resonance points
• 36-2T crank trigger for precise crank angle readings across the full RPM range
• Noise-suppressing dedicated harness replaces aged factory wiring for cleaner signal transmission
• Dedicated mounting brackets and all installation hardware included
• Not CARB legal — not for sale or use in California

Important Notes:

• Requires a compatible aftermarket ECU capable of custom sensor configuration
• Pairs with HKS Super Fire Racing Coil Pro for optimal ignition performance
