Carrillo connecting rods are machined from a proprietary chrome, nickel, moly, vanadium alloy that meets all VAR (Vacuum Arc Re-Melt) ASTM standards. All heat treat processes utilize a mar-aged operation, resulting in a UTS of 195,000 psi and a yield strength of 182,000 psi, while maintaining low notch-sensitivity and excellent ductility. Each rod is manufactured from an oversized forging to ensure proper grain flow and eliminate surface inclusions.

The WMC bolt features asymmetrical threads — each thread is slightly different from the previous — providing evenly distributed thread engagement that increases clamp load and improves fastener fatigue life. WMC bolts are rated for approximately 15–18 torque cycles. Always use the included assembly lubricant on both the threads and under the bolt head during installation to ensure proper torque and clamping load.
