Fox Racing Shocks 981-25-051 Performance Elite 2.5 X 12.0 Air Shock

The Fox Racing Shocks 981-25-051 is a Performance Elite Series 2.5" x 12.0" Air Shock engineered for serious off-road competition and rock crawling applications. Unlike traditional coil-over shocks that rely on a fixed spring rate, this air shock delivers infinite spring rate adjustability by simply varying the nitrogen charge pressure — no spring swaps required.

Key Features:

• 2.5" body diameter with 12.0" of wheel travel for maximum suspension range
• Infinitely adjustable spring rate via nitrogen charge pressure variation — dial in your ride for any load or terrain
• Hollow shock shaft — incredibly strong yet lightweight design ideal for weight-sensitive competition builds
• Race-proven Performance Elite damping technology — identical internals to Fox's full competition off-road shock lineup
• Normal (standard) valving — 40 compression / 80 rebound, tuned for off-road performance
• Fully rebuildable and re-valvable through any authorized Fox Shock Service Center
• Compatible with standard Fox 2.5" coil-over springs and hardware
• Uses standard 1/2" shock mounting bolts

Fox's air shock heritage dates back to 1974, and the Performance Elite air shock represents decades of refinement for off-road racing. Servicing and valving adjustments are identical to other Performance Elite Series shocks, making maintenance straightforward for experienced builders. This shock is particularly well-suited to competition rock crawlers, sand rails, and custom off-road builds where precise weight and spring rate tuning is critical.
