The Fox Racing Shocks 981-20-120 is a Performance Elite Series 2.0" coil-over remote reservoir shock featuring 10 inches of travel and a heavy-duty 7/8" diameter piston rod. Engineered with race-proven materials and construction, this coil-over shock is designed to deliver superior damping performance for serious off-road builds, long-travel suspensions, and demanding trail use.

The oversized 7/8" shaft provides significantly greater resistance to side loads generated by coil springs compared to a standard 5/8" shaft, reducing flex and extending service life. The piston rod is constructed from 17-4 H900 stainless steel, offering exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. High-temp Viton seals and urethane wipers are used throughout to maintain consistent performance under extreme conditions.

The remote reservoir design delivers three key advantages over emulsion-style shocks: improved heat dissipation, enhanced ride quality, and greater long-term durability. The additional oil volume in the reservoir increases heat capacity and accelerates heat loss, allowing harder and longer off-road use without shock fade. The separation of oil and gas also provides more consistent damping throughout the stroke.
