Michelin 57983 XAS Classic Radial Tire 185/70R14 88V

The Michelin XAS is a premium Grand Touring summer tire designed specifically for classic and vintage automobiles. Originally launched in 1965, the XAS was a groundbreaking innovation as the first tire to feature an asymmetric tread pattern, taking advantage of variations in weight distribution during driving to maximize performance and handling precision.

This modern iteration combines period-correct styling with contemporary materials and manufacturing techniques. The tire is produced in small batches to preserve the authentic driving character and aesthetics that classic car enthusiasts demand, while delivering improved performance through modern compounding technology.

Key Features:

• Revolutionary asymmetric tread pattern optimizes inner and outer tread performance
• Lower void outer shoulder maximizes tread contact and cornering grip
• Four circumferential grooves enhance wet weather traction and hydroplaning resistance
• Dual-ply sidewall construction with polyester casing for durability
• Twin steel belts with nylon reinforcement for handling response and high-speed stability
• Classic blackwall styling for period-correct appearance
• 88V load index and speed rating (up to 149 mph)
