QA1 5Q942-12 Twin Tube Circle Track Shock Absorber Large Body Steel 9.38 Inch

The QA1 5Q942-12 is a large body steel shock from the 5Q Series (formerly known as 51 and 53 series), available in stock mount configuration for circle track racing applications. This twin-tube design features two-piece bodies that make it simple to disassemble and reassemble, while the gland features relief cuts and a hyper screw port for easy filling and bleeding during assembly.

Key Features:

• Upgraded seal kit minimizes leaks, especially in high-rebound applications
• Compression tube uses a slip fit design to simplify the rebuild process
• Laser-engraved, black-anodized closure nut makes serial numbers and valving easy to read at the track or in the shop
• Black zinc coating ensures a very consistent finish, creating a tight seal every time
• Scalloped base loop increases clearances in tight areas like upper control arms and shock mounts
• Pistons are made of high-quality raw aluminum, minimizing variations that can be found in anodized parts

These 5Q shocks can be re-valved and rebuilt by racers in a matter of minutes using basic tools, and racers can rebuild and re-valve their own shocks using available tuning and rebuild kits. You can valve the shock with bleed shims or drill out bleeds to maximize tunability. The steel body shocks can be used in coil-over configurations using the appropriate kits (sold separately).
