How It Works:

The Eaton Posi operates through two complementary performance mechanisms. At low torque levels, preload springs energize the carbon disc clutch packs seated behind each differential side gear, applying an initial bias resistance. As torque increases, the gear tooth geometry forces the side gears away from the pinion gears, generating progressively higher clamping force on the clutch packs — automatically slowing the low-traction wheel and routing power to the wheel with the most grip. This fully automatic, torque-sensing design requires zero driver input and delivers consistent, predictable traction across a wide range of driving conditions.
