Product Details

The Wiseco W6178 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered for the Volkswagen 1.8/2.0L EA827 engine family. Featuring an 85mm bore diameter and a 0.051-inch compressed thickness, this 3-layer precision gasket is purpose-built for high-output street and competition engines that demand a reliable, high-pressure seal.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Construction — Three layers of precision-formed steel deliver superior clamping strength and long-term durability
  • High-Pressure Steel-Laminate Design — Engineered to withstand extreme shear forces generated between aluminum cylinder heads and iron engine blocks
  • Heat-Activated Internal Embossments — Embossed sealing beads expand under heat to create a progressively tighter seal as combustion pressures and temperatures rise
  • Power-Adder Ready — Designed to hold up under the extreme demands of turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous oxide applications
  • Bore Diameter: 85mm
  • Compressed Thickness: 0.051 inches
  • Number of Layers: 3

The Wiseco W6178 head gasket is an ideal upgrade for builds that push beyond OEM limits. Whether tuning a boosted daily driver or preparing a dedicated track car, this gasket delivers the precision fit and sealing integrity required to keep your engine running at peak performance.

awesome price easy transaction fast response will buy from autoplicity again

I ordered an AEM intake from Autoplicity because they had the best prices but it was on backorder from AEM. Autoplicity emailed me to let me know right away and sent me a confirmation when it was back in stock. I'll be shopping here again!

I was very impressed by their website and it was very easy to find what I was looking for. My husband was so excited to get his cold air intake and it was cheaper than anywhere else!
