Sumitomo HTR Z5 Ultra High Performance Summer Tire

The Sumitomo HTR Z5 is an ultra-high-performance summer tire engineered for driving enthusiasts who demand superior dry and wet handling, sharp steering response, and confident high-speed stability. Designed for performance-oriented compacts, coupes, sedans, and tuner cars, the HTR Z5 pairs aggressive street-tuner appeal with serious performance credentials — delivering a compelling combination of spirited capability and everyday refinement.

Advanced Asymmetric Tread Design:

• Asymmetric five-rib tread pattern molded with a high-performance summer compound engineered for maximum dry grip and strong wet traction
• Continuous center rib promotes straight-line stability and sharpens steering response at speed
• Four wide circumferential grooves combined with lateral shoulder grooves efficiently evacuate standing water from the contact patch, delivering strong resistance to hydroplaning
• Notched intermediate and center ribs work in concert with the tread compound to enhance wet-weather biting edges and traction
• Increased shoulder and contact patch puts more rubber on the road, promoting even pressure distribution, improved handling response, and extended tread life

High-Performance Internal Construction:

• Two-ply polyester casing provides a strong, lightweight structural foundation
• Two high-rigidity steel belts deliver dimensional stability and precise road-holding at high speeds
• Full-width nylon reinforcement ply enhances high-speed stability in support of the tire's Y speed rating
• High-modulus bead insert stiffens the sidewall to sharpen handling response and lateral grip

Every Sumitomo HTR Z5 is backed by a Free Defect Replacement program for the life of the usable tread, reflecting Sumitomo's confidence in the tire's long-term quality and durability. The HTR Z5 is available across a broad range of sizes to suit a wide spectrum of performance vehicles.
