General RD Regional Drive Commercial Truck Tire

The General RD is a purpose-built regional drive axle tire engineered for medium-duty trucks and buses operating in both short and long haul highway service on single and tandem drive axles. Its tough open-shoulder tread design delivers reliable wet and dry traction, resists irregular wear, and offers high mileage performance backed by a compound resistant to cuts and tears.

Key Features:

• Open Shoulder Drive Design — An open shoulder drive configuration that delivers long service life over short or long hauls with outstanding traction.
• Innovative Lug Angle — Optimized lug geometry provides outstanding traction consistently throughout the full life of the tread.
• Stone Repellent Tread Pattern — Tread design provides excellent wet and dry traction, resists irregular wear, and reduces stone retention to protect the casing and extend removal mileage.
• Cut and Tear Resistant Compound — A resilient tread formulation balances the high-mileage demands of long-haul service with the durability required for challenging regional and mixed-service routes.
• High Retreadability — Reinforced sidewall construction and an enhanced bead package are engineered to support multiple retread cycles, lowering long-term operating costs for commercial fleets.
• Low Rolling Resistance — Designed to support improved fuel economy and extended tread life, contributing to a lower overall cost per mile across fleet operations.
• Regional Drive Optimized — A medium-duty truck open shoulder regional drive position radial tire built to meet the traction, wear resistance, and casing durability demands of mixed-use commercial operations.

Backed by General Tire's heritage as a historic American tire brand founded in 1915 — and now part of the Continental AG family — the General RD line is a trusted choice among fleet operators for its durable construction, dependable traction, and strong retread value. Available across a range of sizes to accommodate diverse fleet configurations and load requirements, the General RD delivers the performance, longevity, and value that commercial hauling operations demand.
