Product Details

The Firestone FT492 is a SmartWay Verified medium-duty truck tire engineered for trailer position applications on single and tandem axle trailers and dollies in long-haul and regional service. This commercial-grade tire delivers exceptional durability and fuel efficiency for demanding fleet operations.

Key Features:

  • Wide Footprint Design: Spreads the load over a larger contact area, distributing pressure evenly to promote long, smooth, and uniform wear
  • Cross-Rib Sipes: Improve traction by slicing through water for enhanced grip on wet road surfaces
  • Stress Relief Sipes: Combat irregular wear along main ribs by absorbing rib edge stresses in the footprint, ensuring long and even wear throughout the tire's life
  • Defense Groove Structure: Creates uniform pressure at the shoulder to minimize edge wear and maximize tread life
  • EPA SmartWay Verified: Certified for lower rolling resistance, contributing to better fuel economy and reduced environmental impact

Ideal for fleet operators seeking a reliable trailer tire that balances longevity, fuel efficiency, and all-weather performance in commercial trucking applications.
