Product Details

The Cometic C5637-040 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered for GM and Mercury Marine big block V8 Gen-IV, Gen-V, and Gen-VI engines. This precision-manufactured gasket features a 4.600" bore diameter and .040" compressed thickness, making it ideal for performance marine applications and custom engine builds.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability under extreme combustion pressures
  • 4.600" bore diameter accommodates big block performance configurations
  • .040" compressed gasket thickness for precise deck height and compression ratio tuning
  • Designed with 4 bolt holes in lifter valley for proper Gen-IV/V/VI engine compatibility
  • High-temperature resistant materials withstand harsh marine environments
  • Engineered for GM and Mercury Marine big block V8 applications

Cometic's MLS gasket technology features multiple layers of stainless steel with precision-applied coatings that provide exceptional conformability to sealing surfaces while maintaining superior strength. The embossed layers create excellent micro-sealing around combustion chambers, coolant passages, and oil galleries. This gasket is particularly well-suited for performance marine engines, stroker builds, and applications requiring precise compression control.
