Product Details

The ACL Bearings 5M590A-40 is an A-Series main bearing set engineered for Small Block Ford engines, including 221, 255, 260, 289, and 302 cubic inch applications. This set features a 0.040" undersize crankshaft journal specification, designed for engines with crankshafts that have been machined or ground undersize.

Aluglide Construction:

  • Proprietary bi-metal composition of aluminum, tin, and silicon with steel backing
  • Exceptional wear resistance and anti-seizure properties
  • Outstanding strength and excellent load-carrying characteristics
  • Superior embeddability and anti-corrosion protection
  • Developed specifically for OEM replacement applications

ACL A-Series bearings have become a dominant choice in engine bearing materials, combining advanced metallurgy with precision engineering. The grooved design ensures proper oil distribution throughout the bearing surface, while the steel backing provides structural integrity under demanding operating conditions. Set includes five main bearings for complete crankshaft support.

Ideal for engine rebuilds where the crankshaft has been machined to -0.040" undersize specifications. ACL bearings meet or exceed OEM standards and are trusted by professional engine builders worldwide.

Great Place to deal with ... Fast and simple

An easy to navigate website, great prices and efficient company. I will definitely check Autoplicity first for all of my automotive needs. From purchase to arrival I was well informed as to the status of my order.

Good Seller, very quick shipping and excellent transaction.

I saved over a hundred$ on a set of electric cooling fans. so the prices r great but it took 4 days to process and ship my order so well see how long it takes to get here but overall I would rather save money than get fast shipping

Best price for the optima battery I needed for my boat, I will definitely add this site to my favorites.

Very quick on shipping, at a great price.
