Product Details

The Cometic C5843-045 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered for Mazda LF/L3 MZR and Ford Duratec 20/23 engines without variable valve timing. This gasket features a precision 89.5mm bore diameter and a compressed thickness of .045 inches, providing excellent sealing and durability for both stock and modified applications.

Key Features:

 • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction for superior strength and reliability
 • 89.5mm bore diameter precisely matched to engine specifications
 • .045" (1.14mm) compressed thickness for optimal compression ratio
 • Designed for non-VVT (Variable Valve Timing) applications
 • Compatible with Mazda LF and L3 MZR engines (2.0L/2.3L)
 • Compatible with Ford Duratec 20 and 23 engines (2.0L/2.3L)
 • Embossed stainless steel layers with elastomeric coatings
 • Excellent resistance to blow-out and heat cycling

Cometic MLS gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with advanced coating technology to create a gasket that rebounds and seals better than traditional composite gaskets. The embossed layers provide multiple sealing points around combustion chambers, coolant passages, and oil return ports. This design makes them ideal for high-performance street engines, forced induction applications, and engines running increased boost or compression.

Applications: Mazda 3, Mazda 5, Mazda 6 with LF/L3 MZR engines; Ford Focus, Fusion, Escape with Duratec 2.0L/2.3L engines (non-VVT versions).

Faster shipping than I expected. Easy order process. The ignition switch was my problem and Autoplicity part was exactly what I needed at a price better than anyone else had, with shipping included. I will definitely look to them again when I need any more parts for my Monte Carlo SS.
Only slight negative would be it took a few days to get an email with tracking number so I would know when my part would come. But once I got it, found it was coming sooner than I originally thought, which was great.

Very fast shipping, the product should arrive today acording to UPS, and I order it 2 days ago. The customer service is also great.

Thanks again,

Great so far !!

The shipping was fast and the customer service was great. I accidentally hit submit twice, and they promptly cancelled my accidental order. If you have any problems, just call!

Very fast shipping and bottom line prices for every part. Awesome website. Will be telling all my friends about and using again for sure!!

So I have an old car. It's and 83, seven years older than me. I'm also a student so I don't have much money and need to make as many repairs myself to save money. I go out to the local pep boys and auto zone to to try to find a repair manual that is for my old model but it's not available. I check online and there are very few copies on line. Autoplicity had the right manual at the lowest price by a good margin.

TLDR; Autoplicity has EVERYTHING and at a cheaper price

Prompt order processing and shipping, the item I received came in good condition and I am eager to get it installed on my car. Over the phone customer support was prompt and polite, I would order from them again.

The magnaflow kit that I ordered was about $100 cheaper than any other site I could find. Shipping was fast, and relatively cheap too.
