Atturo Tires was founded in 2009 by Michael Mathis, a Waukegan, Illinois-based entrepreneur who spent over a decade working in the commercial tire industry before recognizing a gap in the market. Rather than competing head-on with century-old tire giants, Atturo carved out a focused niche: delivering high-quality, performance-driven tires for modern SUVs, light trucks, crossovers, and specialty vehicles — all at a price that doesn't require a second mortgage. Today, Atturo remains 100% independently owned and operated, guided by its founding motto of "Performance Within Reach."

A Brand Built for the Modern Driver

From the very beginning, Atturo understood that today's drivers lead active, demanding lives. Whether hauling gear across town, towing on the weekend, or charging through rocky terrain, drivers needed a tire that could keep up without breaking the bank. Atturo designs and engineers its tires in the United States, then partners with world-class manufacturing facilities in Thailand and Taiwan to produce them — a model that prioritizes quality control and original design over simply rebranding generic rubber. The Trail Blade Series: Atturo's Off-Road Legacy

The jewel of the Atturo lineup is the legendary Trail Blade tire series, a family of off-road and all-terrain products that helped define the modern light truck tire market. A true milestone came in 2014 when Atturo launched the Trail Blade X/T — widely credited as the first commercially available hybrid off-road tire, blending the quiet manners of a highway tire with genuine all-terrain capability. The Trail Blade M/T followed with a distinctive tread pattern co-developed with Mantis Knives, inspired by the Karambit "tiger claw" blade design. The Trail Blade BOSS — Atturo's most aggressive off-road offering — has earned class wins in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, the SCORE San Felipe 250, and finished the Ultra4 King of the Hammers without a single tire failure. Atturo is also the only private brand to have won multiple SEMA Global Media Awards.

The Trail Blade family spans a wide range of driving styles and conditions. The Trail Blade A/T and ATS bring rugged all-terrain toughness to daily drivers, with several models earning the respected 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification for all-weather confidence. The Trail Blade H/T caters to drivers who want capable, quiet performance for both highway cruising and light trail duty, backed by a 60,000-mile treadwear warranty. For mud-slinging enthusiasts, the Trail Blade MTS delivers serious off-road aggression in sizes stretching up to 26-inch wheels.

Beyond Off-Road: A Growing Portfolio

Atturo has steadily expanded its lineup beyond the Trail Blade series to serve even more drivers. In 2021, Atturo officially entered the modern muscle car segment with the AZ850 Muscle.
