Engineered as part of COMP Cams' popular Thumpr camshaft series, this grind is specifically tuned to deliver an aggressive, loping idle — the iconic "thump" — while still producing strong street performance across a wide RPM range.

The Thumpr series achieves its distinctive sound through an intentional early exhaust valve opening and asymmetric lobe design, which creates the characteristic uneven idle note enthusiasts love without sacrificing drivability. The hydraulic roller design reduces valvetrain friction compared to flat tappet cams, improving efficiency and extending component life, while also eliminating the need for break-in oil additives.
