The Wiseco GLS42 Groove Lock Spacer is a precision-engineered piston oil rail support designed for engine bores ranging from 4.472 to 4.568 inches. This universal, non-application-specific component is an essential part of any performance piston build where the oil ring groove intersects the wrist pin bore.

Why You Need an Oil Rail Support:

In applications featuring short compression heights ? common in high-stroke or long-rod engine builds ? the piston's oil ring groove can intersect the wrist pin opening. Without a groove lock spacer in place, the oil ring rail may protrude through the pin bore, causing improper ring seating and potential engine damage. The GLS42 prevents this by supporting the oil ring rail securely within the groove.

Installation Note: The groove lock spacer slides into the oil ring groove and must be oriented with the dimple facing downward and over the wrist pin bore. This positions the end gap 90 degrees from the wrist pin for optimal oil ring performance.
