Product Details

The ACL Bearings 4M1701P-20 is a precision-engineered main bearing set designed for performance engine applications requiring .020" undersize bearings for reground crankshafts. This complete main bearing set features ACL's advanced tri-metal construction with a lead-tin-copper overlay for superior seizure resistance and low friction operation.

Key Features:

  • Tri-metal construction with steel backing, copper-lead intermediate layer, and lead-tin-copper overlay
  • .020" undersize for use with crankshafts ground .020" under specification
  • Manufactured to exacting tolerances with precise wall thickness accuracy for consistent oil clearances
  • Enhanced eccentricity design compensates for bore distortion under high-speed operation
  • Improved overlay composition for excellent seizure resistance and conformability
  • High tensile strength steel backing provides superior bearing retention and durability
  • Nickel barrier layer prevents overlay/lining separation under extreme conditions

ACL performance bearings are engineered to withstand the demands of high-performance and racing applications, featuring metallurgy and design specifications that exceed OEM requirements. The precision manufacturing process ensures reliable fit and optimal hydrodynamic oil film formation for maximum engine protection and longevity.
